An evening photo of Evolution Yacht anchored in the Galapagos Islands

Quasar Expeditions spends a great deal of time & resources upgrading its yachts, to insure we continue to provide our valued passengers with two of the very best yachts on the Islands, ideally suited for your Galapagos adventure. Typically renovations take place annually, with constant attention to the yacht taking place throughout the year.

Major dry docks take place every other year and 2017 is one of those years. If you like TV shows where they give houses a new look, this is that and much more. During dry dock we literally haul the yacht out of the water, tend to the hull, engines, generators and drive shafts. Perhaps most interesting to our passengers is that we renovate and redecorate all cabins and common spaces.

M/Y GRACE
Dry Dock Period from August 19 – October 14, 2017

This year the Grace will get a new suite where Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier spent their honeymoon when the yacht served as the Royal Yacht of Monaco under the name Deo Juvante II. The décor will also enjoy a facelift this time around including upgrades to lighting throughout the vessel. Social areas will be re-upholstered and sun deck redesigned.

    - The largest cabin on the M/Y Grace featuring a King sized bed (image featured above).
  • New, contemporary decor by Adriana Hoyos, a renown Colombian designer, that has worked with iconic cruising brands and luxury hotels in North and South America.
  • Tailored furniture designed to enhance the Galapagos cruising experience.
  • Modern lighting that adjusts to different moods. Guests can select the mood lighting in each cabin.
  • Bathroom designed to match practicality and modern decor.
  • Upgraded and reconditioned bar.
  • An upgraded Sun Deck with new décor and increased space.
  • Safety upgraded through the yacht, via state of the art, emergency lighting.
  • A new coffee station offering a unique coffee experience for guests, including Galapagos grown coffee.
  • Improved cuisine accomplished by a new and larger kitchen, with brand new equipment.

M/V EVOLUTION
Dry Dock Period from August 26 – October 21, 2017

The Evolution will be completely redecorated top to bottom with no corner left untouched. The yacht will receive more modern and smarter lighting, offering 3 mood settings per cabin (the same as the Grace). Social areas will be redecorated with smart lighting and varying moods as well. Additionally, and perhaps less exciting than other upgrades but of greater importance, is that we are installing all new marine standard toilets that will eliminate some of the problems other marine toilets encounter.
