Grey Glacier Navigation

The hike to the famous overlook at Mount Ferrier is a medium to difficult hike that requires you to be in good physical shape to enjoy it, and it offers one of the best views of Torres del Paine National Park. Although Mount Ferrier has a total height of 1,560 meters (5120 ft), we will only be ascending to an elevation of 600 meters (1970 ft) above sea level from the parking spot until the overlook point. The trail is fairly steep at times, and takes us through beech tree forests and Patagonian steppe for about 2 and a half hours. During our ascent, we will start witnessing the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Park, as its several lakes and rock formations start to creep up from behind the mountains and hills. Once we reach the overlook, we will be able to appreciate the full majesty of Torres del Paine National Park and all if its lakes. This is one of the only overlooks in the Park where we can get a view of Grey and Pingo Glaciers, the iconic Paine Massif with its jagged towers and its granite horns, as well as of all the different lakes of the Park that make up the famous Paine Hydric system. From the overlook it will take us about another hour and a half to get down to our Parking spot.
