Kayaking at Glacier Grey Wall

This full day activity is guided by specialists and is considered a mid-level activity, but can be considered a difficult activity when there are strong winds. The day begins with a boat ride across Grey Lake that takes about 45 minutes until we reach Grey shelter where we disembark. From the shelter, and after a safety briefing, we will get all our gear and embark on our kayaks for a 2.5-hour excursion in front of the wall of the mighty Glacier Grey. Our kayak expedition will involve paddling around the large floating icebergs (may not be present during all times of the year), aiming towards the east side of the glacier and getting pretty close to the giant ice wall. While you are resting and enjoying this incredible place, your guide will offer you a snack and a hot drink. If weather conditions permit, we will disembark and walk along an island close to the edge of the glacier before paddling back to the shelter.

Weather Permitting: Please note that this excursion can be cancelled upon arrival at the glacier due to bad weather or if the Grey III boat navigation is cancelled for any reason. In such instances, we will help you plan a replacement activity while in Patagonia. Completion of a kayaking form will be required upon confirmation of excursion.
