Horseback Riding in Laguna Sofia

Horseback riding around Puerto Natales is a great activity for beginner, intermediate and even advanced riders. The rides usually take us for about 3 hours along cattle trails, lenga tree (a type of southern beech) and Antarctic beech forests, as well as on the open Patagonian steppe. Mount Benitez and Mount Balmaceda are one of the several mountains in view along the way, and we will have great opportunities to see condors flying above us. Other animals commonly seen while riding include sheep, guanacos (similar to llamas), blackchested eagles, southern cara caras, upland geese and much more. Along many of the trails we will also find caves, where archeologists have found the remains of prehistoric animals and of humans dating back 3,900 years. The native horses that we ride on these trails make the perfect companions for an unforgettable experience across beautiful Patagonian landscapes
