when booking a 11-Day Patagonia Overland Safari by Quasar.
This is a classic El Chalten trek, that starts directly from town, and takes us through the Adela range, to the famous Laguna Torre at the foot of the mighty Cerro Torre. Beginning at El Chalten, we will hike through a forest of native Lenga trees, where we can observe a number of endemic species of wildlife, including the Magellanic Woodpecker, Condor, Huemul, and perhaps even a puma. Upon arriving at the lake, we will walk the moraine beach and take in the amazing sight of the Torre Glacier and the icebergs which have calved from its face. Our guides are well educated in glaciology and will help you learn more about the movement of the glacier, and how it helped form the unique features of Cerro Torre. After a break that allows you time to enjoy lunch with amazing views, we will head back down through the glacial valley to El Chalten, where we will stretch, relax and revel in the experience.
