Wild Horses of Torres del Paine Hike

Sierra Baguales owes its name to the famous herds of “bagual” wild horses that roam the area. It is located on the eastern edge of Torres del Paine National Park, right on the border with Argentina, an area that was once an obligatory passageway for the native inhabitants of this part of Patagonia. Sierra Baguales is also one of the few places left on earth where large herds of wild horses still roam freely. We will likely pass by herds of these animals on our way to the starting point of the hike, stopping to admire their beauty and unique social behavior. From the point were we park our vehicle, we will begin our trek in search of 100 specimens of wild horses found in the most pristine place with the least human intervention in Torres del Paine National Park. During our trek we will enjoy magnificent views of Lake Stokes, the Cordillera Dickson and the imposing Torres del Paine.
